With the New Year fast approaching, now is the time to reflect on the past year. There’s been so many amazing books published this year!
Editorial Note – I was given a copy of Gytha Lodge’s She Lies in Wait in return for a review. She Lies in Wait by Gytha Lodge is about thirty years later after a teen girl is missing, the discovery of her body reopens a cold case.
Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty is about nine people gathered at a remote health resort. The premise is interesting but the actual story itself veers off into different directions without a cohesive theme.
The Gown: A Novel of the Royal Wedding by Jennifer Robson is a beautifully-written novel about love and friendship. The following book club questions will have spoilers so if you haven’t read the novel yet, check out my preview and review first.

In Another Time by Jillian Cantor follows a young couple torn apart by circumstance leading up to World War II—and the family secret that may prove to be the means for survival. The book will publish on March 5, 2019.

Family Trust by Kathy Wang is about a wealthy Chinese-American family coming to terms with the patriarch’s pancreatic cancer diagnosis. It deals heavily with wealth—both having it and not having it, immigrant parents and their American-born children and some relationship drama. There’s also comedic moments, too.
Seven Days of Us by Francesca Hornak is about a family forced to spend a week in quarantined together during Christmas. Sounds like an interesting one to read during the holidays!
