What makes a book a beach read?

By Heather Caliendo ·

The other day my friend and I talked about book recommendations. She says her book club only selects “beach reads” in the summer, which she thinks to read by the season is a silly concept. But it’s one that many people follow year after year, especially in summertime months.

Should I read one more chapter? Or go to bed?

By Heather Caliendo ·

Just one more chapter. I’ve said that to myself countless times throughout my life. There are some books that grab you so much the thought of not knowing what happens next is unbearable. So I stay up late and read one more chapter, which turns into five more chapters. And next thing I know, it’s […]

Whenever I do travel, I lug around several different books at a time. But after reading about the growth […]

And it was just announced that Nicole Kidman (fresh off the success of HBO’s Big Little […]

Jurassic Park: Comparing the book to the movie

By Heather Caliendo ·

We’ve all heard the phrase “the book is better than the movie.” And oftentimes, it’s true. But I argue that in the case of Jurassic Park, book and movie, each one holds its own. And since the Jurassic World sequel (Fallen Kingdom) is set to be released this summer, I thought it’d be a good discussion […]
