Let’s talk about Between Me and You by Allison Winn Scotch. If you haven’t read the book, check out my preview and if you have read it, be sure to head over to my review.
Let’s get started with my questions for Between Me and You.
What did you think about the dual perspectives and how it was written (chronically and reverse)?
Which character did you identify more with: Tatum or Ben? Why?
One of the key plot points is jealousy of their spouses’ success, Tatum in the beginning and more so with Ben later on. Do you think that jealousy was inevitable since they both work in the same field (movie-making)?
A big issue between these two is a failure to communicate properly. How do you think they could have fixed it? Do you think they’ll be able to communicate better going forward?
Both Ben and Tatum experience huge losses, from his dad and her mom, to the mutual loss of Lou. How did these losses shape who they become?
Why do you think Ben had the affair with Amanda?
When Tatum finds out about the affair, she’s understandably upset but takes part of the blame because of hiding Lou’s returning addiction from Ben. Do you agree with her or were you frustrated she seemingly lets it slide?
Why do you think it took Ben so long to finally write Tatum a screenplay?
Do you think these characters will last? Why or why not?
