5 Book Club Picks for Spring 2026
Spring is here! Let’s take a closer look at five book club picks for spring.
As I write this article, it’s almost April, which is crazy! I can’t believe it will be Easter and then soon enough Memorial Day, and then it’s officially summer. Keep an eye out for the summer book club list that I will publish in the next couple of weeks.
But let’s first give spring its due. There are a ton of books being published that are targeted toward book clubs. Because of this, I decided to put together a quick spring list of newly published reads.
If you’re looking for even more new releases, check out my big must-read book club picks for 2026 list here.
Let’s get into my book club picks for spring!
Daughter of Egypt by Marie Benedict
Marie Benedict writes engaging historical fiction, focusing on women of history. From J. P. Morgan’s personal librarian, Belle da Costa Greene, to Agatha Christie, her books are informative but also deeply absorbing. I always feel I learn something new when I read one of her novels.
Her latest, Daughter of Egypt, follows Lady Evelyn Herbert, who was present during the discovery of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Emily then becomes obsessed with finding the lost tomb of Hatshepsut, who was one of Egypt’s most successful female pharaoh. But it’s a dangerous venture that will put her in an extremely difficult spot.
I plan to read this one after I finish my current book, so check back soon for a review and book club questions!
Son of Nobody by Yann Martel
Yann Martel is the author of the international bestseller, Life of Pi. His latest story is a retelling of the Trojan War from the perspective of two commoners: an ancient soldier and a modern scholar.
This does sound like an extremely ambitious novel, and I did read that it’s good to have a general understanding of The Odyssey beforehand.
Son of Nobody will take readers from the plains of Troy to the halls of Oxford, balancing the classic with the contemporary. I’m very curious about this one.
Love by the Book by Jessica George
This novel is all about female friendship, which I always find so appealing and also refreshing. It follows a woman named Remy who reached big success with her debut novel, but her friendship group is growing apart. She feels alone and unable to find her next story idea.
Simone is a successful kindergarten teacher with a close-knit family. However, when a secret is exposed, it changes everything.
Remy and Simone meet in a bookstore. And while the two are as different as can be, they both might be the friend the other one is searching for.
Go Gentle by Maria Semple
Maria Semple is the author of Where’d You Go, Bernadette, which was a quirky and original novel. She’s back with her latest about a woman trying to figure it all out.
Adora Hazzard is living a good life in New York with her teenage daughter and her job as a tutor. But when she meets a handsome stranger, everything shifts, and she embarks on a journey of self-discovery.
With her work, the less you know, the better. So definitely looking forward to this one.
The Caretaker by Marcus Kilewer
The Caretaker is a supernatural horror novel about a young woman taking a three-day caretaking job she found on Craigslist, with much more at stake than advertised.
After his viral debut novel in 2024, Marcus Kliewer is back with his highly anticipated sophomore novel, The Caretaker. It was also announced that The Caretaker was acquired by Universal, with Sydney Sweeney attached to star.
I rarely read horror; in fact, I have no idea what the last horror book I’ve read was. But I’ve heard great things about The Caretaker, and it seems to balance suspense, with more at play. I just won’t read it late at night, ha.
Happy reading!
